TerraTag Privacy Policy

TerraTag: GPS Map Camera (the “App”)

Effective date: 27 June 2026 · Last updated: 27 June 2026

Short summary: Your photos and the location stamps on them are created and stored on your device - we do not upload them to our servers and we do not run an account system. We do not sell your personal data. To keep TerraTag free we use Google AdMob (ads) and Google Firebase / Analytics (app analytics & crash reporting), and we use Google Maps Platform to power the map and nearby places; these services may collect limited data such as your advertising identifier, device/usage data and the location or search terms needed to return map results. You can control location, notifications and ad personalization from your device settings at any time.

This Privacy Policy explains how TerraTag (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use our Android application. The App’s core feature is taking photos and stamping them with location, address, map and time information (a “geotag”). By installing or using the App, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Who we are

The App is developed and provided by VOZ Studio (“Developer”). For any privacy question or request, contact us at komacavina@gmail.com.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Location data

Because the core purpose of the App is to geotag photos and show places near you, we access your device’s precise and/or approximate location (GPS, network, and where available the resolved address or place name) only while you are actively using the App (the “while in use” permission). This location data is:

Your location is not tracked in the background and your photos and their stamps are not transmitted to or stored on our servers. If you deny or revoke location permission, you can still take photos, but they will not include a location stamp, and nearby places will be unavailable.

2.2 Camera and photos

We access your device camera to let you capture photos, and we may request access to your photos / media to save captured images, stamp existing photos, or display them in the in-app Gallery. Photos you create are saved to your device’s local storage and the gallery folder you choose. We do not read, upload, or analyze your photo library beyond the action you request. On Android 13 and later, the App uses the system Photo Picker / granular media access, so it can work without broad access to all of your photos.

2.3 Nearby places & map requests

When you open the Live Earth Map or search Nearby Places, the App sends the data necessary to return results - such as your approximate or precise location and your search query - to Google Maps Platform so it can display the map and relevant places. These requests are handled under Google’s terms and privacy policy (see Section 5).

2.4 Information collected automatically (via third-party SDKs)

Through the third-party services described in Section 5, the App may automatically collect:

2.5 Information we do NOT collect

We do not require you to create an account. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or contacts, and we do not store your photos or their location tags on our servers.

3. Permissions we request

PermissionWhy we use itOptional?

The App also accesses the Advertising ID (declared via the AD_ID permission) so that Google AdMob can deliver and measure ads. You can reset this ID or opt out of personalized ads in your device settings.

4. How we use information

5. Third-party services

The App integrates the following third-party SDKs, which process data under their own privacy policies:

We do not control how these providers use data once collected. We may add or change service providers; material changes will be reflected in this policy.

6. Advertising and your choices

We show ads to keep the App free. Ads may be personalized based on your advertising identifier. You can:

7. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only:

Your photos and their location tags remain on your device. They are shared only when you choose to share or export them (for example to another app, a cloud service, or a contact).

8. Data storage and retention

Photos and geotags are stored locally on your device for as long as you keep them. Data collected by third-party SDKs is retained according to those providers’ policies. Because we do not operate a backend for your photos, deleting the App removes its local app data from your device (photos already saved to your gallery remain until you delete them).

9. Deleting your data

You are always in control of your data:

This section is also our data-deletion request method: to request deletion of any data associated with your use of the App, email komacavina@gmail.com with the subject “Data deletion - TerraTag”.

10. Security

We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data, including encryption of data in transit. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for securing your own device.

11. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict processing of your personal data, and to object to processing or withdraw consent. Because we store minimal data and your photos stay on your device, you can exercise most rights directly by managing permissions, your Advertising ID, and your local files. For requests involving data we control, contact komacavina@gmail.com.

11.1 European Economic Area, UK & Switzerland (GDPR / UK GDPR)

Our legal bases for processing are your consent (for personalized ads and analytics where required) and our legitimate interests (to operate, secure, and improve the App). You may withdraw consent at any time via the in-app consent settings or your device settings, and you may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

11.2 California (CCPA / CPRA)

We do not sell your personal information for money. However, when personalized ads are enabled, the use of your advertising identifier for ad personalization may be considered “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising under the CPRA. You can opt out of this at any time by disabling ad personalization or resetting your Advertising ID in your device settings (and, where applicable, via the in-app consent screen) - this is our “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” mechanism. You also have the right to know, access, correct, delete, and to be free from discrimination for exercising these rights. To make a request, contact us at the email above.

11.3 India (DPDP Act), Brazil (LGPD) & other regions

If you are in India, Brazil, or another jurisdiction with data-protection laws, you may have equivalent rights to access, correct, and delete your data and to withdraw consent. We honor verifiable requests in line with applicable local law - contact us at the email above.

12. Children’s privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it. Ads shown in the App are configured to comply with applicable family/child policies.

13. International data transfers

Our third-party providers may process data on servers located outside your country. Where required, those providers rely on appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for such transfers.

13.1 Applicable law

TerraTag is published globally. We aim to handle your data in line with applicable data-protection laws wherever you use the App. Where the mandatory laws of your country or region of residence grant you data-protection rights - for example the GDPR (EEA/UK), CCPA/CPRA (California), the DPDP Act (India), or the LGPD (Brazil) - those laws govern the processing of your personal data, and nothing in this Policy limits any rights you cannot waive under your local law.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice within the App. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
